Big Deal Bunker ("BDB", "we", "us", or "our") operates the Big Deal Bunker website and related services.
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, when it may be disclosed, how long we retain it, and the choices available to you.
BDB currently operates from New Zealand.
For privacy enquiries: hello@bigdealbunker.com
We aim to collect only information needed to operate the BDB service.
2.1 Email address. When you use passwordless sign-in, we collect your email address. We use it to authenticate your account, send the sign-in code required to access your account, and send notifications associated with alerts you create. BDB does not require you to create or remember a password.
2.2 Alerts. If you create an alert, we store the criteria required to monitor that alert and send you relevant notifications.
2.3 Technical and security information. BDB processes technical information necessary to operate, secure and troubleshoot the service, including authentication/session information and relevant security or operational logs.
We use personal information for purposes connected with operating BDB, including:
We do not sell personal information. We do not use personal information for third-party behavioural advertising.
BDB uses a session cookie to maintain an authenticated session. The production session cookie is configured with HttpOnly, Secure and SameSite=Lax attributes.
BDB does not intentionally use third-party advertising cookies or advertising pixels, and does not use cookies to build advertising profiles.
BDB's codebase includes an optional, privacy-focused analytics integration (Plausible). This is not currently active. No analytics script runs, and no analytics cookies or identifying information are collected today. If this is activated in future, this Privacy Policy will be updated first to describe exactly what is deployed.
BDB may send:
Alert emails include an unsubscribe mechanism. Users can also manage or delete individual alerts directly through their account.
BDB uses third-party providers necessary to operate the service, in categories including: email delivery; hosting and infrastructure; and product and pricing information used to identify opportunities.
BDB uses MaxMind's GeoLite2 country database to determine a visitor's country for the purpose of selecting an appropriate initial marketplace. This product includes GeoLite Data created by MaxMind, available from https://www.maxmind.com.
Where personal information is disclosed to or processed by an organisation outside New Zealand, BDB will take account of the requirements that apply to overseas disclosure and processing under New Zealand privacy law.
BDB provides links to retailers, including Amazon. When you follow a retailer link, you leave BDB and interact with the retailer directly. The retailer's own terms, privacy practices, cookies, pricing, availability, shipping, taxes and other conditions apply to that transaction.
BDB may receive a commission from qualifying purchases through affiliate relationships. Our Affiliate Disclosure provides further detail. BDB does not receive payment-card information when you purchase from a retailer through a BDB link.
BDB does not retain personal information indefinitely. We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, to operate and secure the service, to meet legitimate operational requirements, or where retention is required or permitted by law.
Account and alert information is retained while needed to provide the relevant service. Authentication information (including sign-in codes) is retained only as needed for that short-lived purpose and for security.
When an account is deleted, the account and associated account information are deleted from active service systems. Database backups are retained for up to 30 days on a rolling basis, after which older backups are automatically deleted — a deleted account may therefore still exist in a backup for up to 30 days before that copy is overwritten.
Users can delete their BDB account at any time using the account deletion function provided in the service. This permanently removes the account and its associated data (including alerts) from active service systems. As described in Section 9, a copy may persist in backups for up to 30 days before being overwritten.
BDB takes reasonable steps to protect personal information against loss, unauthorised access, use, modification, disclosure and other misuse. Current measures include secure session cookie configuration, protection of authentication information, rate limiting and access controls. No internet-based service can guarantee absolute security.
BDB is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to BDB, contact hello@bigdealbunker.com.
Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, you may have rights concerning personal information BDB holds about you, including rights to request access to or correction of that information. You can also delete your BDB account using the account deletion function at any time.
For privacy requests or concerns: hello@bigdealbunker.com. BDB will handle requests in accordance with applicable privacy law.
BDB uses service providers and infrastructure located outside New Zealand. Where personal information is disclosed or processed outside New Zealand, BDB will take reasonable steps to comply with applicable requirements concerning overseas disclosure and processing.
If BDB becomes aware of a privacy breach involving personal information, we will assess and respond to the incident and take any notification steps required by applicable law.
We may update this Privacy Policy when BDB's services, information practices or applicable legal requirements change. The date above will be changed when the policy is materially updated.
